When Janet Porter released What’s a Girl to Do While Waiting for Mr. Right? in 2002, it became the #2 Best Seller on the Christian “Relationship Chart.” It has since been translated into other languages and sold worldwide.
In 2018, Porter wrote and produced the What’s a Girl to Do? sitcom pilot with a cast of talented, award-winning, actors from around the country including Robert Davi, (The Goonies. Die Hard, and The Expendables 3), Rusty Joiner (Dodgeball, Melrose Place, Voiceless), Mac McConnell (who wrote and starred in the Emmy Award Winning Ft. Lauderdale Christmas Pageant), Matt Moore (Homeless for the Holidays, The Big Fix), and Rich Swingle (who won the “People’s Choice Actor of the Year,” at the International Christian Film Festival in 2021).
Others have since joined the cast including Patricia Mauceri, (who starred on Days of our Lives for 14 years), Mimi Sagadin (Return to the Hiding Place), Gary Nation (who won Best Actor at the International Christian Film Festival for his role in Polycarp), and Cesar Caolo who won the Crown Point “Best Actor Award” at the Crown Point International Film Festival. Season 1 is in post-production while the filming of Season 2 has already begun. What’s a Girl to Do? will counter the culture while making people laugh.
Porter is also the Founder and President of Faith2Action and the architect of the pro-life Heartbeat Bill, introduced in Congress, 30 states, and passed in fourteen states (and counting). She has authored six books including: A Heartbeat Away, The Criminalization of Christianity, and True to Life. She hosted an award-winning 60-second daily radio commentary which aired in more than 300 markets for nearly twenty years and a one-hour syndicated radio program for seven years.
